<reviewbody>I find it interesting that the primary example used to support the statement made by the professor that rape is down over the past quarter century that porn has become more previlant in our society, the film "Deep Throat, is actually the recording of repeated rape, according to the actress in the film. Linda Lovelace has stated in interviews that she was drugged, intimidated, and forced to make the film, and that her involvement was not consensual.

I also want to point out that MOST rapes are not reported to the police. Therefore, to use statistics based on reported violations is false. I think the professor would find that, if he were to conduct a broad survey of women and girls of different generations, that the incident of rape has not decreased, only the social support for the victims of rape. This is the real reason that his findings support his disturbing pro-porn argument.

Having had experience working in the up-market porn industry in San Francisco, I have found that there is a great deal of systematic control of "fresh talent" through the introduction of drugs, alcohol, and intimidation. Whatever you want to call it, it is damaging to the individuals who are involved.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I think his argument is actually quite shaky, given the nature of business and the balance of power in the sex industries. </reviewbody>
<reviewtitle>I agree with the above poster</reviewtitle>
